Guatemala Trip

This group of students will be serving alongside Mision Vida Nueva, a Gospel-centered mission focusing on orphan care and ministry to people in rural villages. We will be installing stoves and water filters for low-income housing, working with children at Casa Gloria, a local children’s home, and meeting the needs of the elderly, sharing the gospel along the way.

Days 6 and 7: Heading Back and Enjoying the City

Yesterday morning, we woke up early and got on the bus to make our way to Antiqua. When we finally got there, we checked into our hotel and went to the local market. Everyone looked around and found fun souvenirs. We then headed back to the hotel and played Uno and some other games until…

Day 5: Mountains & Villages

Yesterday, we divided into groups. One group stayed in San Cristobal and drove up to the nearby mountains to deliver food to some elderly citizens. We learned that a lot of times their families don’t visit them. We also sang “Praise to the Lord” in English, Spanish, and their native Mayan language called Poqomchi’. We…

Day 2: Praying for a City in Need

“We started off the morning by walking around the city of San Cristobal with Avis (The group we were working with) praying for the city and people. The people who are lost try to cover all their bases by going to the Catholic Church to sacrifice to Mayan gods. We even went up from the…

Most of the students slept on the flight to Miami, where they prepared their belongings for customs before the 2 1/2-half-hour flight to Guatemala. After landing, they met another student group preparing to head back to America. Unfortunately, the…
