Why Connect Groups?
Life is better connected. Experiencing life-changing faith is meant to be done in community. That’s why we offer a variety of Connect Groups where you can build authentic relationships and figure out how to live life God’s way together with others who desire the same thing. We have Connect Groups that meet both on and off campus, Sunday mornings and throughout the week. There are groups for all ages, walks of life, and time schedules. In John 14:15 Jesus said, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments." We hope to live life in a way that our Savior is honored to the utmost and it is contagiously communicated to the nations. The teaching style is a combination of study and discussion. The community we have experienced with our Connect Group has been great. Each of us leaning on one another, living an Acts 2 lifestyle as we allow the Holy Spirit to move us. Believers being vulnerable, helping one another as we move from marriage to parenting, suffering to joy and blessing to blessing.

Charlie Alligood

Charlie and Morgan Alligood lead this Connect Group of couples in their 30s. They meet weekly after the Worship service to apply the sermon and passage of Scripture to their lives as individuals and families. They also spend time praying together and encouraging each other in the faith throughout the week.

Russell Connect Group

Taylor and Lindsey Russell have been married 5 years and have a one year old son Meriadoc. The group is geared towards 20's and 30's, both single and married, but anyone is always welcome. Each week we meet to have a non-sermon based scriptural study and discussion time. Typically the class walks through whole books of the Bible week by week, and we occasionally do topical scriptural studies. Please join us in room D201 each Sunday at 11am as we grow in Christ together.

Salchow Connect Group

Dave and Ann Salchow (pronounced Sar-grow) lead this group for any singles in their 30s-50s. The group is designed to apply the week's sermon text to real life for singles. They also host activities together for community building and discipleship. If you are single in this age group, then this is a great group to plug into at Hebron!

Our group gathers in a circle instead of rows and are an interactive group with a pretty even mix of lecture and discussion time that occurs within this circle. We love our group for many reasons, but the care that our group shows each other during times of crisis and loss stands out the most. We have witnessed many answered prayers in our group and it is very humbling to see God so actively working in the lives of the people in our class.

This group is co-led by a number of different leaders. A group effort allows us to continually develop leaders! Our group is a mix of large group teaching and small discussion groups. We do organized and spontaneous activities outside of group together. Developing leaders and launching new Connect Groups is very important to us and shapes a lot of what we do.

Alan and Bonnie have been married over 25 years! They met at Hebron Church and have remained here throughout their marriage. They live in Dacula and have three children – Hannah, Eli, and Abby. Alan and Bonnie are both passionate about seeing people come to know the Lord. Alan works in the construction industry and Bonnie is the glue that holds the household together (aka a “Stay-at-Home Mom”). Their Connect Group is a welcoming environment and they would love to have you in their group.

We invite you to stop by E-107 at 11 am as we focus on application of God's Word in the real-life journey we are on. Our group time is mostly a sermon-based discussion format where everyone is important, and we celebrate triumphs and carry burdens together. There is realness here which sometimes means laughter, sometimes means tears, but always means care, love, and support. With a mixed age-range, diverse backgrounds and interests, and varying family dynamics represented, there are a lot of ways to connect. Oh, and we like sharing really good food, too!

John Bailey

Knower and Doers Class: Teachers John Bailey and co-teacher Tommy Beasley. The class has been together for roughly twenty years. We are mostly a couple's class with some single men, women, and widows. The age range is from the sixties to early seventies. Our lesson series alternates between the Old and New Testament. The first Sunday of the month we have a potluck breakfast, and the third Sunday of the month class members go out to eat together. Many class members are active in various ministries, and we are a missions-oriented group. Several men and women in our class have been to Kentucky and Montana on mission trips and support the missionaries in those locations. We invite you to join us to study the Word of God and live it out.

Frank McKinney

Frank and Kathy have been married for over 50 years. They have 4 children and 15 grandchildren. They are all a happy family and love the way God designed the family to work together. Frank prefers to teach a discussion style class with segments of lecture. By engaging the class Frank believes that everyone has a chance to “teach” one another and to “learn” from each other. Frank says, "I love how our class works together as a family to care for each other’s needs and the ministry needs of those outside our class. It is always a blessing when we have new people join our class because it gives us another perspective and an opportunity to share the love of Christ with them. It is a joy to see how class members "step-up” to fill “their” role when the opportunity arises.”

OPEN HEARTS is a group of committed Christians that share lives, joys and burdens. The class is filled with true prayer warriors, that can be counted upon to faithfully pray for the needs of individuals in the class as well as those in the community, the nation and the world. “We study the Bible together, have fun together, minister together and travel together.” The teaching style is part lecture and accented with open and lively discussion. New members of all ages are welcome!

Tom and Sue Richardson have been married nearly 30 years and have three children. They enjoy hiking, tennis, Braves baseball and family outings. Sue is very creative and teaches in the children’s ministry. Tom’s co-teacher is Jack Williams, a gifted speaker, and very strong in his faith. He and his wife, Lisa, are both involved in other ministries at Hebron. Both Tom and Jack have a teaching style that encourages open discussion. Our group prays for one another and participates in the lessons. We love learning and growing together in God’s Word. You are welcome to join us in person or on line each Sunday! A message from Pete Labella: Our Connect Group has been active at Hebron for more than 30 years with an average attendance of 38-40 each week. We have a rotation consisting of several great teachers, which provides a mixed style of lecture and discussion that we believe offers something for everyone. Teaching and learning to apply God’s Word is our focus but we take every opportunity to include time for a little food, fun and fellowship. We are a ministry driven class that includes prayer and caring for each other. We also help feed the bus children and support of an overseas missionary, just to name a few. So, y'all come see us. No appointment necessary, all walk-ins welcome.

Roger leads the DOVES Connect Group along with co-teacher, Bill Mobley. DOVES is an acronym Declaring Our Victorious Eternal Savior. We believe the Bible to be the holy inspired, inerrant, infallible word of God to be taught without compromise. We use various teaching methods; lectures, discussions, and video lessons from great teacher/preachers. Prayer as well as social activities are part of our great fellowship. We welcome everybody regardless of age.

Cecil and Julia Tabb have been married over ten years. We have four adult children and several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Cecil's teaching style is lecture with freedom to participate with questions or comments during the lesson. We have fun studying the word of God and monthly get-togethers. We schedule local restaurants for lunch after church for those who want to go.

After realizing I had been a lost church member for many years, I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior in 1981, at the age of 32. I’ve been married 51 years to my high school girlfriend, Glenda. We are blessed with a son, Dusty, and a Daughter, Lindsey. She and husband Brett Bullock have blessed us with a granddaughter and two grandsons. We have served in many capacities here at Hebron since 1986. You’ll find the Believers Connect Group welcoming and inclusive. Our connect group is for parents of all ages and stages. We focus on studying and applying God’s word through facilitating questions based around the sermon each week. We use a discussion based approach that comes from our own real life experiences as we are the parents of five children that range in age from 8-20 and have been married for 25 years. Much of our discussion and application applies to how the scripture changes our lives and our families and how we can be disciples and make disciples in our homes and community. Our class is made up of other parents in various stages and phases of marriage and parenting. We lean on each other and learn from one another's experiences in life, parenting, and marriage. We would love to have you join us as we do life together, share each other’s burdens, grow closer to the Lord, and encourage one another in our marriage and parenting journeys.

Teresa Pollard co-teaches with Linda Jenkins in a Connect Group for senior adult ladies. They have a heavy discussion format. Teresa was married for forty years, and had three children. Teresa says, “After the death of my youngest and a divorce, I moved to Dacula to help my oldest daughter care for my grandson. God has given me new joy and purpose, as well as new friends and a new church family.” Linda has four adult children with three grandsons. She likes to travel, read and watch movies. Linda is involved in the Grayson City Council and Gwinnett Senior Leadership. This Connect Group is a small group with large goals.

We love marriage and are passionate about seeing others enjoy it to the fullest in the way God created it to be. We were married in 2009 and have a 7 year old daughter, Reese, and a 4 year old son, Oakley. The early years of marriage are some of the sweetest, yet also have the potential to be some of the most difficult. This group is designed to have engaged and newly married couples come together each week to navigate, in a Christ-like way, the ups and downs of their current season of life. Our time together each Thursday night is spent in a sermon-based discussion and topical application specifically related to marriage. We want to “do life” together and be the body of Christ to one another both in the good times and the hard times! We’d love to have you join us!
