Vermont Update 5: Church Planting & Easter Invites

Wednesday, we went to Mission City’s Middlebury campus. This church launched six weeks ago and meets in the town hall theater. Today, we served the community by and deep cleaning as much as we could and cleaned the bathrooms as a way to thank the theater for allowing the church to meet there. 

We also got to hear from their pastor, Brad, about planting a church. We talked about the differences in a church plant and our church and how we can be praying for them. 

We got to visit some local shops and got coffee before we split up in groups to put Easter invites on people’s doors, inviting them to Mission City’s Easter service. We got to talk with some community members and invite them to church and we gave out almost 200 invites to homes in the community. 

We went back to the hospitality house in Rutland where we had dinner provided by pastor Jesse’s small group,  we introduced ourselves, shared why we came to Vermont, and what our favorite things we’ve done so far were. It’s been great getting to know all the church members and they have been so generous to us while we’ve served.
