Scotland Update 4: From Toddlers to Senior Adults

We had a full productive day today.

We began this morning by helping with the church’s “Toddlers” program at Glenrothes. There were 40+ toddlers from church and the community. Toddlers filled the room, which was scattered with toys, and their moms, grandmothers, or guardians sat along the walls. Our team welcomed the adults and had some good conversations with many of them; our goal was to befriend them and hopefully/prayerfully introduce them to Jesus!

Later today, I was invited to the church’s annual Christmas luncheon for the senior citizens. What a treat to be considered a senior adult! Once again, the room was filled, but this time with those over 60. I made several new friends at my table, and it was a joy to converse with them. I later met with Erik (short for Frederik), who has led this event since 2004 and started with four people. He was a gifted musician and led the event with gusto. Listening to all of the senior adults sing together has been one of my favorite memories so far.

In the evening, our team went to the Pastor’s home for dinner and a time of Fellowship. We enjoyed great food (Scottish, South African, and others), played trivia, and sang worship songs together.
Once again, I met and made many new friends.

Praise God for His Word and its encouragement and effect on my life. Thank you, Jesus!
