Proposed Bylaw Change, Budget, and Nominations
On Nov. 10, we will have our Budget Q&A at 4 p.m. in Building E, Room 100. Ministry leaders will talk through their proposed 2025 budgets.
In addition, we will introduce our Elder, Deacon, and Standing Teams Nominees. You can find more information about the nomination and voting process here.
Lastly, Pastor Landon will propose a bylaw change that states (Section 4, Subpoint C, second bullet point):
- All Deacons shall be elected to serve for a three-year term. After serving their term, at least one year must pass before a Deacon is eligible for re-election a Deacon may be eligible to serve for an additional three (3) years, if desirous and if approved by the congregation. After the initial three (3) years of service, each Deacon must be reaffirmed by the Elders and approved by the congregation by a three-fourths (3/4) majority vote at a members’ meeting in order to continue serving as a Deacon. After six (6) years of service, each Deacon will be required to take a sabbatical of no less than one year. Upon completion of the sabbatical, the Deacon would be eligible for future service dependent upon nomination and approval from the congregation.
Each of these items of discussion will be voted on at the Quarterly Member Meeting at 5 p.m. on Nov. 17 in Building E, Gym.
