Guatemala Update 1: Stoves and Water Filters
We arrived in Guatemala! After two easy flights we took a bus to our hotel. The bus ride ended up being a little longer than we thought dude to some traffic, but it just gave us more time for team bonding! Today, we got to go into one of the villages and installed stoves and water filters for three families. At one of the houses, when a little kid pulled his shirt up and showed his stomach, one of the AVIS staff members told us that he does this because he is sick from the water they drink. This was just one example of how important clean water is to these people and how it will change their lives.
Being able to serve the people in Guatemala has already been so eye opening and you can truly see the love of God and the joy that he brings. The children here are all so happy despite their circumstances. They all have this childlike joy which has encouraged us all.
