East Africa Update 2: Sharing Life Together

We had a wonderful and humbling day with the Rejoice project leaders. They share their life with us and taught us how to make some of the local dishes. We even caught a chicken and had it for lunch. It was a sacrificial gift from the families we visited. The women were a wonderful testimony of Proverbs 31 as they welcomed us in their homes. I came away very humbled by their labor of love to serve us and because of their humble surroundings. 

 They showed us how they use the water filters that they have received from Rejoice project and we talked about Jesus being the Living Water. The families shared with us how important these filters are and the difference they have made in the lives of their families. Before the water filters there was a lot of disease and even death of friends and family. 

 We ended the day at the new empowerment center where Rejoice project is planting food to help teach and sustain families in the community. I love gardening and enjoyed the opportunity to help them plant herbs, trees and other fruit bearing plants. I came away blessed after a beautiful day getting to meet my African brothers and sisters and sharing life together.
