Armenia Update 2: Stories, Fellowship and Prayer
Today, we spent the morning with our partners at their workplace in an unhurried time of worship, prayer, and devotion. This multi-language extended time with brothers and sisters from across the globe, including those from adversarial nations who now work together, was a picture of the equipping and building up of the body of Christ that Paul writes about in Ephesians 4.
Lunch, prepared by on-staff chefs as is customary in the Armenian work culture, provided a time of fellowship with partner leadership and functional team members, including strategists, social media, graphic designers, teachers, counselors, missionaries, and others. This time allowed us to go deeper in understanding our partner’s mission and vision and the alignment of their team and hear stories directly from those on the frontlines in some of the hardest-to-reach places.
Our afternoon was spent at the Armenian Genocide Museum, gaining an understanding of the history, atrocities, and geopolitical forces that underlay much of the regional tensions existing in Armenia and the surrounding countries. During this visit, our team found a place overlooking the city and prayed for a spirit of forgiveness, reflecting what Christ has done for us, to build within our partner organization and multiply in the community in a way that can wash away the generational barriers and lead to healing and glorification of our Savior.
To wrap up the day, we enjoyed another delightful meal with our host at a local Persian restaurant.
