Armenia Update 1: Faithful to Pray

Monday, we did a prayer walk through the city of Yerevan, stopping at 6 important locations to pray over the city. All of these locations (i.e., St. Gregory’s Cathedral, Republic Square, the Armenian National Opera and Ballet, and others) are gathering spaces where Armenian believers encounter nonbelievers regularly. In these places across Yerevan, we stoped and publicly prayed: for brothers and sisters evangelizing, against spiritual warfare, for continued preservation and religious freedom, for salvation of the individuals who hold power, over the education system and city infrastructure, for those trapped in religious traditions to break into the freedom of relationship with Jesus, and ultimately for salvation and hope for the lost and broken.

That evening, we shared a meal with a couple living in Armenia on staff with our partner. Through their story, we learned about the importance of the sending church (the church which send missionaries abroad) and its role to support and pray. We also witnessed the progress of a ministry, which was only in the planning stages last time we visited and now it is in its inaugural year.

Praying for the city in a very particularly way as well as hearing about the lives and ministries of our friends encouraged the team greatly. We each have been stirred to pray boldly and expectantly over both Yerevan and Dacula.
